Our Story

The Honig Foundation est. 2021

The Honig Foundation is focused on making a difference to individuals and families’ resident in Australia.

The foundation also seeks to encourage innovative ‘start-up’ solutions to the challenges facing disadvantaged individuals and families in
our community.

The Honig Foundation was established in 2021 with funds made possible through decades of hard work, luck and opportunities that came from making Australia home to an immigrant family who arrived in Sydney with very little, having fled the horrors of World War 2 in Europe.

The Honig Foundation is named in honour of the founding Director’s maternal grandmother Margaret Honig who arrived, with her surviving family, in Australia in 1949.

Our Commitment

We have a strong commitment to provide opportunities to disadvantaged members of the community with limited choices to enable them to live a better, healthy and secure life in Australia.

Through the Foundation the family is now looking to give back to the community which supported them and provided new opportunities that had been denied them in their home country.

This will be undertaken by providing funding to eligible organisations to assist them in delivering programs and support that will have a positive impact on the lives of individuals and families in Australia and provide them the dignity, hope and security that everyone should expect from this lucky country.
